Who we are

Bondlyy (“we”, “us”) provides platonic social companionship across the UK. For the purposes of UK GDPR, Bondlyy is the data controller for the personal data described on this page.

We collect only what we need to connect you with a vetted companion safely. And we never sell your data.

Data we collect

Depending on how you use Bondlyy, we may collect:

  • Account details. Your name, email address and profile information
  • Booking details. Session preferences, dates, locations and any accessibility needs you share with us
  • Identity documents. Photo ID uploaded for verification before a booking is confirmed
  • Vetting records. References, interview notes and DBS status for companion applicants
  • Session messages. Chat between you and your companion within a confirmed booking
  • Location data. Optional, only during live sessions when you choose to share it for safety
  • Payment records. Handled by our payment provider; we never store your card details

How we use your data

We use your data to run the service you asked for: verifying identity, matching companions, delivering sessions and keeping people safe. Where required by law, we rely on your consent. For example when a companion applicant agrees to vetting checks. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Accessibility information you share with us is only ever used to match the right support and is passed to your assigned companion for the session.

Identity checks & vetting

Every client's photo ID is reviewed by a member of our team before a booking is confirmed; the document itself is deleted once verification is complete.

Every companion completes an application, a video interview and reference checks, and provides their ID and right-to-work evidence before joining the platform. We retain vetting records for as long as legally required to demonstrate safe recruitment.

Session messages

Chat between a client and their companion is private to that booking. Bondlyy does not routinely read your messages.

If a message is reported, our safeguarding team can review the reported conversation to keep people safe. Messages may be retained after a session closes as a safety record.

Location during sessions

For in-person sessions, companions and clients may choose to share live location with Bondlyy during the booking. An added safety measure, not surveillance. Location data is only collected while a session is active and is not used for any other purpose.

Who we share data with

Your data is shared only where it's needed to deliver the service:

  • Your assigned companion receives the session details relevant to your booking. Never your ID documents
  • Our payment provider processes transactions under their own privacy policy
  • Service providers who help us run the platform (email, hosting and scheduling)
  • Law enforcement or safeguarding authorities, where we're legally required or someone's safety is at risk

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary: identity documents are deleted once verification is complete; booking and accounting records are kept for the period required by law; and inactive accounts are reviewed and deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and you can object to processing or ask us to transfer it. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
