Become a Companion

Companion Agreement

This agreement sets out the terms under which you provide companionship services through Bondlyy. It covers the business relationship between you (the Companion) and Bondlyy (the Business), what is expected on both sides, and what happens if things go wrong. Please read it in full before accepting. Your acceptance is recorded with your application.

1. About this agreement

  • This agreement is made between Bondlyy ("the Business") and you ("the Companion") and governs all companionship sessions arranged through the Bondlyy platform.
  • By accepting, you confirm you are 18 or over, have the right to work in the UK, and have provided truthful information in your application.
  • Acceptance of this agreement is a condition of approval as a Bondlyy companion; it takes effect when your application is approved and continues until either party ends it under Section 19.

2. Your role and the services

  • You provide platonic social companionship. Conversation, shared activities, outings, travel accompaniment, event attendance, and social or emotional support.
  • Sessions are arranged and paid for through Bondlyy. You are matched with clients based on your profile, availability, and the information you provide.
  • You choose which bookings to accept and when you work; you are not obliged to accept any particular booking, and declining one will not, on its own, end this agreement.

3. Strictly platonic-only policy

  • All services are strictly platonic. Romantic, sexual, or intimate conduct of any kind with a client. Including during, before, or after a session. Is prohibited.
  • You must not arrange or suggest meeting a client privately outside booked sessions, and must not exchange personal contact details with clients except as needed for a booked session.
  • Any breach of this policy results in immediate removal from the platform, forfeiture of pending payments, and, where appropriate, referral to the authorities.

4. Code of conduct

  • Act professionally and courteously at all times: be punctual, sober, and appropriately dressed for the booking.
  • Respect clients' boundaries, dignity, beliefs, and privacy; never pressure a client for gifts, tips, or personal information.
  • Follow any reasonable care instructions agreed for the booking (e.g. mobility or dietary needs) and the safeguarding practices in Section 11.
  • Never provide services you are not qualified or approved to give. Including medical, nursing, counselling, or personal care beyond what is agreed with the Business in writing.

5. Self-employment, tax and working status

  • You engage with Bondlyy as an independent contractor, not an employee, worker, or agent of the Business. This agreement does not create an employment relationship.
  • You are solely responsible for registering with HMRC as required, and for your own income tax, National Insurance, and any VAT obligations.
  • You may work for other individuals or businesses, provided this does not conflict with your obligations under Sections 3, 13 and 14.

6. Bookings, scheduling and availability

  • You keep your availability on the platform up to date and respond to booking requests promptly. Normally within 24 hours.
  • Once you accept a booking you are expected to attend. If you cannot attend, notify the Business as early as possible so the client can be informed or rematched.
  • Arrive on time; if delayed, notify the Business immediately. Clients are informed of the companion assigned to them and of any changes.

7. Fees, payment and commission

  • Session prices are set by the Business. Your fee for each session type is confirmed to you before you accept a booking and is stated in your onboarding information.
  • Clients pay the Business (through the platform's payment provider). The Business pays you your fee by bank transfer within 7 days of a completed session.
  • The Business deducts its commission from the client price before paying you; the commission rate is confirmed during onboarding.
  • You must not request or accept any payment, tip, or gift from a client directly. Tips, where offered, should be reported and are added to your next payment.

8. Cancellations and no-shows

  • If you cancel an accepted booking with less than 24 hours' notice, or fail to attend without notice (a no-show), the Business may deduct an administration fee from your next payment and may review your status on the platform.
  • Repeated cancellations or no-shows are grounds for suspension or removal under Section 19.
  • If a client cancels on you with less than 24 hours' notice, you receive a cancellation payment equal to 25% of your fee for that session.

9. Travel and expenses

  • Travel arrangements and any expense allowances (such as mileage, train fares, or meals on longer bookings) are agreed in writing before the booking is confirmed.
  • Unless agreed otherwise, you are responsible for your own travel to and from the session location, and any pre-agreed expenses are reimbursed with your session fee on receipt of valid receipts.
  • For overnight and travel bookings, accommodation is arranged and paid for by the Business.

10. Vetting, DBS and ongoing checks

  • Your approval is subject to the Business's vetting process: application review, video interview, identity verification, reference checks, and a DBS check at the level the Business requires for your bookings.
  • You must maintain a valid DBS check (including the DBS update service where required) and notify the Business within 48 hours of any criminal charge, conviction, caution, or investigation relating to you.
  • The Business may re-run checks periodically and may suspend your access while a check is completed.

11. Safety, safeguarding and live sessions

  • Many clients are elderly, isolated, or socially anxious, and some are adults at risk. You must act with particular care and follow the safeguarding guidance given during onboarding.
  • For every session you must check in when it starts and check out when it ends, using the platform's live-session feature, and share your location during the session where the booking requires it.
  • Never leave a vulnerable client in an unsafe situation; if a client appears unwell, at risk, or in danger, follow the emergency procedure in your onboarding pack (call emergency services where needed, then notify the Business immediately).
  • You must not attend a session under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs, or take a client in your vehicle unless this is agreed in advance and your licence and insurance permit it.

12. Confidentiality and data protection

  • Client information, session details, and everything you learn about a client is confidential and must not be shared with anyone outside the Business, including on social media, in any form.
  • You must comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 when handling any personal data, and must notify the Business within 24 hours of any accidental loss or disclosure of client data.
  • You may not record (audio, video, or photo) a client without their prior consent and the Business's written approval.

13. Client relationships and bookings outside the platform

  • All client bookings and payments must go through the platform. You must not accept bookings, payments, or gifts from a Bondlyy client directly, or arrange future sessions with them privately.
  • You must not canvass, solicit, or advertise to Bondlyy clients for your own benefit, or introduce them to competing services.
  • This clause applies during this agreement and for 12 months after it ends, in respect of clients you were matched with.

14. Public representation and social media

  • You must not present yourself as an employee, owner, or spokesperson of Bondlyy, and must not make public statements that could damage the Business's reputation.
  • You may not use the Bondlyy name, logo, or client details in any social media, advertising, or press context without the Business's prior written consent.
  • Never post about a client, a session, or its content in any way that could identify them, even indirectly.

15. Insurance and liability

  • The Business holds public liability insurance for platform activities. You are responsible for holding any insurance the law requires of you. For example, business-use motor insurance where driving is agreed.
  • Neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses arising from this agreement.
  • You must report any accident, injury, damage, or incident at a session to the Business within 24 hours.

16. Complaints and disputes

  • If a client complains about a session, the Business will tell you the substance of the complaint and give you a fair opportunity to respond before any decision is made.
  • If you have a complaint about a client, a payment, or the Business, raise it with the Business in writing; we aim to respond within 5 working days.
  • Both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith discussion before taking any formal action.

17. Suspension and investigation

  • The Business may suspend your access to the platform immediately while it investigates a complaint, safeguarding concern, or vetting matter.
  • A suspension is not a disciplinary penalty; if the matter is resolved in your favour, your access is restored and your bookings resume.
  • While suspended you must not contact affected clients or discuss the investigation with anyone other than the Business and your own professional advisers.

18. Ending this agreement

  • Either party may end this agreement at any time by giving 14 days' written notice to the other.
  • The Business may end it immediately, without notice, for a serious breach. Including any breach of the platonic-only policy (Section 3), the code of conduct (Section 4), or the confidentiality clause (Section 12).
  • Ending this agreement does not affect fees already earned for completed sessions, which are paid in the normal way, or your obligations that survive it (Sections 12, 13 and 14).

19. Changes to this agreement

  • The Business may update this agreement from time to time and will notify you by email at least 14 days before changes take effect.
  • If you continue to accept bookings after that date, you are treated as accepting the updated agreement; if you do not agree, you may end this agreement under Section 18 without penalty.

20. General

  • This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
  • If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
  • Nothing in this agreement removes either party's rights under consumer or employment law, where those apply.
  • A person who is not a party to this agreement has no rights under it (Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999).
